2007.01.07: All-terrain XC skiing to la Ronde Noire

Quite unmotivated to insist on skate skiing in poor conditions, I was quite motivated to use my seldom used off-XC-piste touring skis.

A little bit of rain at the end turns on the turbo:

Friendly dog always wants to play – no matter sun, snow or rain.

This was the turn around point for many people on true skating skis.  The poles hitting pavement through slushy ice probably contributed…

Glide was fine on the snow/grass mixture – no rocks.  We’ll have to see if they’ll be some ski wax soon made to give extra glide on grass.

The global warming question of the day:  will these ‘exceptional’ ski conditions become the norm?
